The seat belt what we are using now (Three point seat belt) is made by Volvo Company in 1959. Even though Volvo designed this seat belt, they open the seat belt patent for everyone to use for the safety of passengers.

How to wear a seat belt properly
After you seated, wear the seat belt. Then pull up it little from the section crossing your chest and tied the section crossing your thighs. This is enough for you to protect from an accident. According to Sri Lankan law, the driver and the passenger next to driver must wear the seat belts. But its better all the passengers in the vehicle wear the seat belts. Specially when you are travelling with babies, it is better to use baby car seat if you can. Because there is more possibility for them to thrown away or rolling in the vehicle in an accident.
